When the Gardiners next door asked Charlice to housekeep for the summer while they're on vacation, Charlice being the condescending, nice girl she was accepted.
But housekeeping isn't easy. Especially when Jack and Tracy Gardiner have been left behind, with Jack disappearing or pulling pranks every other day and Tracy being addicted to Charlie's bacon.
Not to mention the dog, who's always going places he isn't supposed to.
Or Charlice's worst nightmare ever, the gang of ghosts she's found in the basement of their house. A gang which includes her own, and Jack's dead grandmothers.

Pretty soon, Max starts hearing child laughter and a lullaby at night. She tells it to her dad, but Adam says she has to stop watching horror movies.
