Nineteen year old Iris Blancaflor was born without the ability to use magic in a family made up of witches and sorcerers. Although taught the many spells and potions, and memorized them down to the very last detail, none of them conjured like they were supposed to, if at all. Completely accepting the fact that she will always be looked at differently by her family and would never been sworn into The Divine Circle, she made the best of the normal life she was given, at least while it lasted. When she unexpectedly meets Elijah Galloway, a new student in her first year Medieval History class, her average lifestyle quickly turns into beautiful chaos as Iris finds herself diving head first into the world she thought she would never be apart of.

Iris Foster never thought to question her life or the extreme measures that her father said would keep her safe. But when a packet of letters comes to light--addressed to her father and dated nineteen years prior--Iris begins asking questions. And discovers that there are times when ignorance truly is bliss.
