Meeting Shadows...

I wake up to the sudden loud sounds of my alarm at 6:30 in the morning. School... I sit up and shut it off quickly to prevent it from waking up the others. I get up and turn on my lizard's light to wake her up. She slowly opens her eyes to glare at me.

Though on my way to the bus stop I realize it's oddly quiet. Usually there would be birds chirping their beaks off. But no. Total. Utter. Silence. Even my footsteps seemed silenced by the atmosphere hanging around the small neighborhood.
