IMPORTANT!!!!! I had to do this for school. The assignment was to write a short story about really anything that somehow included the Monument Valley and it's mountains. While thinking what to do I went to instagram and saw a video of a dad who had lost his daughter in a school shooting giving an interview (I think) about not knowing wether he had told her he loved her that morning she went to school and didn't come back. That gave me the idea to write this story. So this story includes this interview amd I just wanted to tell you that this is where I got the inspiration from. If you're not comfortable with such a subject I suggest you not to read this. Otherwise...I hope you like it. Please write a comment on what you thought.

This short story is the product of a lost bet. A friend challenged me to write it and we both enjoyed it enough that I wanted to share it with all of you on WattPad. It's fun and frivolous and my first attempt at writing futuristic dystopian. The United States and its Government have fallen apart and it's up to the country's citizens to find a way to carry on. In a small, central Pennyslvania, river town a group of people have carved out a stable existence under the leadership of their Governor and his volunteer militia - the Royal Order of Knights. The only problem? Governor Kramm's daughter. Charli grew up watching (and falling in love with) her best friend as he trained to become an honored Knight and her dream has always been to be one of them. However, her father's current laws won't allow women to serve. When their community falls under attack and she risks her own life to save her father's, will it be her final sacrifice or her proving grounds?
