Jessie Roberts is colorblind, despite this he has always loved drawing, art, and everything creative. He aspires to be an artist but he lives in black and white, at home he has a loving mom but a father still coming around to him being genderfluid.

Chanson Taylor is deaf. However he is mesmerized by musicians' hands flowing over piano keys, and wants to do it himself. Living at home with a father fighting to find work, he survives by watching pianists, but can he himself be one.

Zale Vittorio is blind. After a disease took his sight at the age of five he lives in darkness. One of the things he does remember about the world is ballet. The fluid movements and beautiful music. His parents wish he would aspire to do something more to his abilities, but can he let his love for dancing go?

Charity Stevens is selectively mute. After a car crash that killed her parents, she hasn't  spoken a word in front of people. Her older sister, Aika, is her only tether to sanity. Despite this, she loves music and longs to sing. Will she overcome the trauma of her parents' death or stay silent.

When all of them meet at high school they become unlikely friends. Will they overcome their obstacles and achieve they're dreams? Or will they become forgotten.

Her surrounding nature kills off any and all possibilities of trying to look on the bright side of life. She tends to stick around her friends instead of staying home with her so called family. Her family is always working constantly, and she doesn't really get the attention a teenage girl needs. Sure she gets the money but that is not what she wants or needs. She wants a family who will sit and eat around the dinner table asking, "How was your day?" Her father was murdered by one of his co-workers. Her mother is always at work so she doesn't really get those heart-to- heart conversations like most people can. Alice Knight: She is turning 18 in a month and is hoping to become a dancer for Evelyn. She is a senior in high school just hoping to get a good job and become successful in life. She is a bit klutzy and constantly having blonde moments. She passes the classes that she is taking as if it were a fly by to her. She is the witty person of her family and acts just her father. She is also very sarcastic and is always using the trait with ease. She talks all the time and her talking is sometimes compared to the Energizer Bunny, on going, never ends. Alice has brown hair and brown eyes. Alice's surrounding nature is always getting distracted by something. Her family was a normal family. Her mom died in a car crash when she was 13. She got along with her mom a lot better than her dad. After her mom died in the car crash, her dad started abusing alcohol. Her dead and her fight a lot. Her dad makes the stupidest choices ever. She wishes she could have her normal family back. She gets good grades so she can get out of the hell hole she lives in.

Andrew had always been accepting of Blue, making sure they always felt safe in his presence. Of course, they always assumed he was merely playing nice due to the fact he was in love with Luke. When Blue's grades begin to falter, Andrew agrees to help tutor them, bringing them closer together. Through their friendship, he helps them learn how to deal with life as the nights get long and how to begin to ask for what they want without guilt, even if it means wanting to be with him. *This book is inspired by the anime Junjou Romantica, though it is far more appropriate than that anime, so you will notice some correlation.
