March 16, 2017. The midst of World War 3. A fifteen-year-old war nurse from Westminster, Maryland, is shipped to London, England, to take care of the wounded and ill. Filled with fear and despair, the young nurse wants nothing more than to get out. That is, until she meets a young soldier wounded in battle, being held together by a few stitches and some gauze. Despite the dirt and dried blood covering his skin and messy hair, the stitches holding together his split lip, and the ugly wound leftover from his life-saving lung transplant, the young nurse finds comfort in the friendship of this boy.
Her mistake was evident too soon, falling for a patient. Patients are never around for long, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Will the war keep them apart, or will the two be strong enough to find their way back to each other against all odds?
Author's Note: I'm considering turning this into a novel in the future
Also, it was inspired by the song With Me by Sum 41.
