Max Turner, your typical teenage boy, realizes he has a bit of a problem when he finds himself in an abandoned replica of his hometown. Unsure of what to do, he decides to explore this odd alternate version of life. Not too long after his discovery, though, he starts to find some other civilians, a few appearing just as confused and concerned as him. He eventually meets Jade, a girl close to his age, who tries to answer all of his frantic questions about what the whole deal is with this strange place. As she explains the frightening circumstances and the pieces start to fall together, Max begins to understand the real difference between life and death. He starts to understand a more real, scarier than ever meaning of what it means to live in a Hell on Earth.
