Dawn's Light

Once, light graced the entire kingdom of Roahla, but now the land is shrouded in darkness. The land was cursed to be shunned by the sun, and the moon is left as the largest source of light. Only magic keeps the land alive after a century of darkness.

Celia is a normal human in the sun-forsaken land of Roahla until a young dragon chooses her to be her rider. With the aid of magic from her dragon, Celia goes on a quest to find what remains of the last rays of the last sunset. She hopes to use them to restore the sun to Roahla. Little does she know, there are those who do not desire the return of the sun. Both friends and foes await the human girl and her dragon.

"You're sixteen, you went through twelve years of school, and you passed the test to be one of the Potentials in the Choosing. You even got the third highest score in the class...out of five...only four of who passed... I'm average! I'm not the best."
She paced, "What if I do something stupid and ruin my chances to be chosen? That's even worse than not being chosen at all!"
"Calm... caaaalllmm..." Celia slowly inhaled, then attempted to regain her focus by explaining what she had to do in the simplest way possible. "All I have to do is go out there when I am called, stand in front of the dragons, then open my mind and soul for examination by the draga. That's simple enough."
