The Aeneid is an epic poem written in 12 books and is modeled in part on the great Greek epic poems, on Homer's Iliadand Odyssey, and on Apollonius' Argonautica. The Iliad describes the exploits of Achilles and other Greek heroes in the Trojan War (the same war which forced Aeneas to leave Troy and is described in Book II of the Aeneid) whilst the Odyssey describes how Ulysses (or Odysseus in Greek) wandered for many years, trying to return home after the Trojan War.
The first six books of the Aeneid parallel the Odyssey because they describe Aeneas' search for a home. Aeneas even stops in many of the same places that Odysseus did. There is an important difference, however, for whilst Odysseus was trying to return to his original home, Aeneas must find a new place in which to settle and make his home.

The second six books parallel the Iliad, for they describe the war in Italy just as the Iliad describes the Trojan War. Again, there are many parallels. For example, the Trojans are besieged inside their fort in Italy just as they were trapped inside Troy. But again there is an important difference, since the Iliad describes how the Trojans lost the war and Troy fell but in theAeneid the Trojans win the war in Italy and get the chance to build a new city.

Virgil imitates many scenes from both the Iliad and the Odyssey in his epic, but he always changes them in significant ways so that they illustrate his own Roman themes. One of the most important differences between Homer's epics and the Aeneid is that it can be read as a patriotic poem whilst the Iliad and the Odyssey are poems about individuals and their adventures.

Disclaimer: I do not claim to be an expert in historical characters, peoples, times, places, languages, & settings, nor does this have any historical relevance; I'm just a writer, retelling the story of the Trojan War in a biblical light. It's still a work in progress, so I will continue to write & correct my writing & any errors I made along the way. Inspired by Greek Roman & European legends, historical army formations, remixed with biblical themes, & an original vision of mine. Come & experience a retelling of the Trojan War in a Christian biblical light manner & POV, while keeping in touch with some of what was written in Homer's Iliad, Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, & other ancient writings, changing what was originally there, & adding biblical ideas to the story of the Trojan War. The story follows Priam's desperation for the wife he loves Hecuba to have a child. After hearing about Israel's Conquest of the land of Canaan & rumors spreading about their God amongst the commanders officers, he willingly sets out on a diplomatic mission to bring to the tribes of Israel gifts, going to Kedesh-Naphtali Priam comes into conflict with Sisera a Canaanite commander of 10,000 Canaanites & 900 chariots, meets Barak of Ephraim before he became a commander, & the prophet Deborah who led Israel at the time. The story continues on with the birth of Paris & how he came to be as a shepherd boy with his guardians Agelaus & Harpru, & his friends Ankenaus, Brutus, Francus, Achates, & Oenone to how he becomes the prince of Troy meeting his half siblings Deiphobus, Troilus, Hectoris, & others.

She's the daughter of Hades. And an immortal goddess in charge of managing suicide in the world. And she's been locked in the darkness of the Underworld for her entire life. So basically, her life couldn't get any more abnormal if she tried. Ellie longs to experience life like everybody else her age, but for as long as she can remember her parents haven't let her travel up to the surface, and she's been forced to imagine the upper world through the stories her mother told and the books she read. Until, one day, her parents finally give in and let her go up to the surface to see the world through her own eyes, and her world explodes with colour. Then, just when she thinks her life couldn't get more exciting, she stumbles across a very particular green-eyed god; one who throws her perfectly organised world into complete chaos and shows her what it means to live in the light. But what Ellie doesn't know, is that the Fates have a prophecy for her. A prophecy that she couldn't escape if she tried. A prophecy that has tangled it's gnarled fingers into the threads of her life, and may just throw the world into the darkness Ellie has spent her whole life trying to escape. "He's the son of Aphrodite, she's the daughter of Hades. He's light, she's the oncoming darkness. He advocates for love, she's the embodiment of death. What could possibly go wrong?" **Book Summary: Greece Odyssey** Amid the tranquil coastal village of Elysia, a young fisherman named Leonidas dreams of adventure beyond the shimmering horizon. Fate, however, has designs greater than his dreams. When the muse Calliope descends from Olympus, draped in a cloak woven from the light of the stars, she reveals to Leonidas his role in an age-old prophecy-one that speaks of a mortal who will stand against the turbulent tides of godly strife. Guided by Calliope's celestial wisdom, Leonidas embarks on a treacherous odyssey to secure the blessings of the gods. His journey tests his mettle and resolve as he faces mythical beasts, cunning adversaries, and his own inner demons. Along the way, he crosses paths with the likes of Athena, Hermes, Medusa, Circe, and more, each encounter leaving an indelible mark on his soul. As Leonidas' legend grows, so too does the tumult among the gods of Olympus. Zeus, seated atop the divine pantheon, observes the mortal's progress with a mixture of trepidation and intrigue. In a climactic assembly of the gods, a decision is reached that will forever alter the fate of both realms-a decision that beckons Leonidas toward an ultimate confrontation. Leonidas' quest culminates in a cataclysmic clash of gods and titans, where the threads of fate converge and diverge with every heartbeat. As the young hero confronts his own limits, he must also confront the malevolent deity who has manipulated the very fabric of existence. With courage forged in the crucible of trials, Leonidas rises to a destiny beyond imagination. In a world where the divine and mortal realms intersect, where power and virtue collide, "Echoes of Olympus" weaves an epic tapestry of heroism, sacrifice, and the unbreakable ties between humanity and the gods. As the constellations blaze overhead, the story's echoes resonate through time, a reminder that the echo of one mortal's valor can ripple across the cosmos, forever shaping the world

Ocean Goldreich is the sister I never had. Or at least, her brothers put that thing in my mind. I tried my best to look at her as my very own sister and it worked... for at least these whole year, until I met her again in Finland and somehow she looked even more perfect than I remember. And finally after all these years I gave in to my lust toward her. We crossed the lines with the promise that we will be back as brother and sister again afterward. Can I do that? The answer is bullshit. How can I look at her as my sister when all I can remember from her is our nights together. But she was so adamant to keep our relationship as best friends slash sister brother. Seriously, Ocean? Drew Roderick, I had a crush on him in all my teenage life. But he broke my heart again and again when he just looked at me as his little sister. And now, when I was over him (or I think I was), he came back to me and acted sweetly intimate romantic and whatever is far from the brotherly attitude. I tried to push him away, but I couldn't because the truth is I want him more than just a brother. Can we cross the line? The line that my brothers put is so thick between us. But, suddenly things in our life changed. Now I'm a mother of a little baby, Charlene. We have Charlene now. I can't let my lust override my brain. I have Char in stake. But why did Drew act like we are really a happy family? We are far from family. Just co-parenting a baby, right? Words {[150.000-200.000]}

The arms race began in Mesopotamia with the invention of composite bows, light chariots and crossbows. The Persian (Iranian) emperor tried to conquer Athens in 480 BCE but was delayed by the Spartans at Thermopylae while Greek warships destroyed the Persian fleet. The Macedonian ruler, Alexander the Great, completely destroyed the Persian armies by 326 BCE and established the Greek empire. Then, between 600 and 200 BCE, a few hundred Greeks revolutionized science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, history, law and philosophy. Meanwhile, Greeks settlers in Sicily were in conflict with Rome and, by first century BCE, Romans had conquered Greece, Egypt, Carthage and the old Persian empire. Roman traders made large profits using the Silk Road between Rome, China and India and which created higher incomes though out the Roman empire. Roman engineers built more than 80,000 km of roads throughout the empire and 800 km of aqueducts in Rome delivered a million cubic metres of water each day. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas. Later books detail some of the ideas and developments that increased the average life span from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day (and to $140 per day in some countries).

Like anyone else, a 25-year-old mini market worker Dylan King will never think that he will witness the Greek Goddess Athena come out from a yellow lightning spark magically appears in his room. It turns out that the goddess has just managed to free herself from a realm called Kolaseos. This realm has imprisoned her for more than a thousand years, thus making her and her people a myth. As Athena attempts to adjust herself with the present life, her lifelong enemy Medusa also comes out from the same spark, even though the location where it is located is different. Being engaged in a skirmish against the gorgon is inevitable, and it ends up leading Dylan and Athena to find more Greek Gods, who apparently have also come out from Kolaseos too. One of them is Hephaestus, the Greek God of Blacksmith. Later on, Dylan learns that an ex tech billionaire is suspected to have built a machine that will summon and control any creatures or gods still trapped in Kolaseos, with the classic purpose of taking over the world. The suspicion itself is getting stronger with monsters ambushing them and Medusa, making the gods determined to stop the ambitious man. Dylan does not regard it as a problem, until his involvement with them risks him to repeat a tragic past; one that he has actually been trying to hide for the past few years. Dylan is aware that the deeper he is involved will only make the possibility become bigger. However, as he is somehow blessed with the power to shut Kolaseos portal, he can be considered as the most crucial key to gain victory. To make it worse, he later learns that avoiding the conflict will only lead to a future that is way more tragic than he had predicted earlier. Knowing which option he should take, he cannot imagine what will happen to him once the problem is finally solved.

Hey guys! This book has been officially published on Amazon. It's available as an ebook or a paperback. The version available on Amazon has been edited and I even changed some of the plot. I'd love it if you went to check it out and maybe even bought it. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BF333KWH/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=) Love, Sophia *** "I-" I try to say something, anything, but the words get stuck in my throat when Jonas suddenly grabs the collar of my shirt and pulls me awfully close to his face. "Shut it!" Chills shoot down my spine as if someone just dumped a bucket of ice water down the back of my shirt. What is he doing? I know he can get angry sometimes, but he wouldn't dare to lay a hand on me in public, would he? I wait and wait for him to do something, but he does nothing because we get interrupted by a loud voice that sounds through the quiet of the night. "Hey!" I dare to open my eyes a little to see where it's coming from. A tall blond guy, carrying grocery bags is standing a couple yards away. "Yes, I'm talking to you! Step away from the girl right now!" *** The story of two broken souls- Madeleine Evans, a college student in an abusive relationship, and Elias Sanders, a soldier suffering from PTSD- trying to pick up their own and each other's pieces.
