..Throowb....whoosh...whoosh.. Disappearing as swiftly and unexpectedly as it came, the magnificent flash of green was a glimpse to behold. But so was I. It's wings and my limbs. It's eyes and mine, one in the same, trained in equal ways. Sense to sense, and heart to heart. The way it moved -I moved. We played the mirror and became the reflection throughout the forest. The canopy hung above and around us, blanketing our disobedience and my stubbornness to stay out of the mists or strong currents that play with the leaves. When the heads of the Nation of the Seven Savies decide to introduce biological weaponry by altering the genes of their unborn, nature backfires and the alterations become dormant in the experiments. However, their need for power over the Free State ruled by the opposing party of the historical civil war, fuels the drive to continue finding other way to bring them under their reign as the eighth savy. Little do they know that the next generation filled with secret law breakers have inherited the genes in their most active forms and although, they come together for fun, they create an army of their own that will face tragedy, and death ridden encounters like never before.

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice.
