..Throowb....whoosh...whoosh..

Disappearing as swiftly and unexpectedly as it came, the magnificent flash of green was a glimpse to behold. But so was I. It's wings and my limbs. It's eyes and mine, one in the same, trained in equal ways. Sense to sense, and heart to heart. The way it moved -I moved. We played the mirror and became the reflection throughout the forest. The canopy hung above and around us, blanketing our disobedience and my stubbornness to stay out of the mists or strong currents that play with the leaves.

When the heads of the Nation of the Seven Savies decide to introduce biological weaponry by altering the genes of their unborn, nature backfires and the alterations become dormant in the experiments. However, their need for power over the Free State ruled by the opposing party of the historical civil war, fuels the drive to continue finding other way to bring them under their reign as the eighth savy. Little do they know that the next generation filled with secret law breakers have inherited the genes in their most active forms and although, they come together for fun, they create an army of their own that will face tragedy, and death ridden encounters like never before.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

Your next selfie. Your last breath. ☤☠♥ When cutting-edge nanotechnology creates a healthcare revolution, Brianna Harmond and her friends hack the government's project for their high school science fair, and create an app that can alter appearance with the swipe of your thumb. As the dangers of gene-splicing manifest in unpredictable ways, the band of misfits gain powers that border on the supernatural, while falling deeper into an underground world of DNA hackers and body modification. As her darkest secrets are made public and her techie research cripples her little sister, Brianna finds herself in a bidding war between the government and billion-dollar tech firms, and wrestling with new abilities that defy logic. In the right hands, their scientific discovery could save the world... but in the wrong hands it will end humanity. "A dystopian fantasy with a scifi twist that will keep you up all night." This is a near-future YA technothriller with LitRPG elements, but most of the action takes place in a contemporary high school setting.
