It's London. It's the 1990s. It's what you're supposed to do if you're gay and you've grown up in the middle of nowhere; keep everything to yourself until you can get away, escape to the city and start being the person you think you're supposed to be. Except Ella has just realised she has no idea who that is. Her life had been about moving to somewhere where she didn't have to keep her feelings secret, that being honest to herself didn't bring trouble to her doorstep. She hadn't given much thought to what happened afterwards, that it would, well, just sort of fall into place. She hadn't expected to find herself thrown into a world of women who had already made that journey. She didn't expect to start dating someone else's girlfriend. She didn't expect her boss to shake her landlady down and make her homeless. She, she didn't expect it to be so much fun. - Hey! This is my first time here. I've written about 60,000 words of the 75,000 of my Young Adult book "The Searching Game" and thought that it was about time I started to find out if anyone wanted to read it. Getting to the point, it's about being a lesbian towards the end of Britpop, Cool Britannia and when there was just about an internet but there was nothing on it and you had to access it through a box that made funny noises. I wanted to write this book as times change but the lessons are still the same. It's just back then we could get away with more!All Rights Reserved
