"But what if I'm not ready?" Luna cried, clutching the necklace to her chest.
Rose smiled. "You have your friends to guide you. Don't act like your life is perfect. Life isn't perfect. Not for anyone, my darling."
Luna sobbed as the heart monitor went flat.
She was gone. Josh pulled her close to him as he kissed her head.
"She'll watch over you, Luna. She will protect you... she will."

When no one talks to you anymore or even sees you, you wonder, what's the point? I could move after high school, I could start over, but it wouldn't change anything. I would still be that awkward girl. The one that hides in the shadows to stay out of people's way. I always sit in the back corner near the window in the classroom.
