1944: An escaped POW is saved by a shepherdess just beyond the Bavarian border. He realizes that she is deeply involved in the resistance effort, killing German soldiers as they come to her cottage and disposing of their bodies up on the mountain. The occupying Germans aren't suspicious of any resistance activity; after all, a great, wolf-like beast has long been rumored to roam the forest and hills.

As he becomes more entangled with the shepherdess, they begin to find more devoured, mutilated bodies, bodies they didn't leave to rot. He soon begins to wonder if the shepherdess isn't the most dangerous thing in the hills, anymore.
