Mittelalter, der 13 jährige Oswin wird ständig aus seinen Träumen gerissen. Ständig hackt man auf ihn ein er solle endlich zu klarem verstand kommen, denn der Schattend er Nacht der große Held jener Zeit könne auch nicht in seinen Träumen schwelgen. Oft mals rettete der Schatten der Nacht den menschen die Haut dennoch in weit auseinander liegenden Zeiten. Oswin kann es so langsam nicht mehr hören und fängt an den Schatten der Nacht zu verspotten. Er gibt ihm die Schuld das er nicht leben kann wie er es möchte. Er fängt an die Legende zu Hassen. Tage später kommt jemand neues in seine Klasse. Ein junges Mädchen. Sie scheint sehr schüchtern und Oswin gerät in Liebschaft. Und dann geschah es der Tag an dem die Schwarzen Wolken empor stiegen und alles mitnahmen was sich bewegte. Oswin steckt in der Zwickmühle denn er ist der einzige der von seinem Dorf noch da ist und dann trifft er auf "Ihn" und muss mit ihm zusammen arbeiten.
