After a virus known as the IAAN kills off 90% of America's children, the survivors gain powerful abilities and are placed in government-run rehabilitation camps. 

Ember Vast, who survived the disease along with her younger brother Azel are both hidden by their loving parents who dread the thought of sending them to the so-called camps.
