Two years after their first outing, The Viper, Dr. Duncan Drevis, The Crawler, Nightclaw, Powerhouse, and Coldsnap are riding high on their reputation as the Paragons, having gone on separate adventures of their own while still keeping in touch. After a team mission, things start to go awry when Powerhouse receives a dire distress message from the Egyptian god of strength and fertility, Apis-the deity responsible for granting him his powers-alerting him that Anubis, the Egyptian god of death, is at risk of escaping his custody and exacting his wrath on humanity thanks to the actions of a mysterious cult known as the Dark Scions led by the enigmatic Damien Kraft. In order to prevent Anubis's return and rescue Earth's populace at large, he and the other Paragons must travel to Cairo-the capital of Egypt-to intercept Kraft and his followers before they reach Anubis's resting place; a mission that, if not completed successfully, could lead to the destruction of every living thing......everywhere.
But this time, they will need some additional help. Apis, understanding the threat that Anubis poses to Earth, has called upon other gods from the Egyptian pantheon to come to his and the Paragons' aid: Thoth, god of wisdom, Set, god of violence and chaos, Isis, goddess of magic, and Nut, goddess of the sky. Now, gods and heroes alike must team up and work together to foil Anubis and the Dark Scions before the death god subjugates the planet and dooms millions of innocent souls to the Duat.
