Mason and Darcy were best friends; well they used to be. That’s at the beginning of the story, right at the beginning. Because as most people know, it requires effort to make a friendship work, and neither put any in. So the friendship thinned and gradually the two lost contact.

Although they went to the same school, they lost touch, and made new friends.
While Mason turned into what is commonly known as a 'badass', Darcy made new friends.
Mason tried to moved on- well that’s what he told people, and Darcy didn’t; she couldn’t.

Mason wrecked friendships, while Darcy sat and hoped that her two friends would fall in love- because that’s what they both wanted, and deep down that’s what Darcy wanted too.

The two people were best friends, but the amity thinned. And the friendship dissolved.

After a viscous attack, which left Darcy in tatters, Mason is the one who saves her, but the question is: can something so violent and heartbreaking rebuild The Friendship?
