This book is about the struggle of one's sanity to compress his inner sinister desires for killing. Patrick Sullivan had a unique and an unloving childhood, abandoned by his parents and left at a foster home. One could argue that this is what made him into the monster that he is today. While others say he was born a killer, no one really knows.
