Marked Wolves
 
	The Marked Wolves were the harshest warriors in their kingdom. For years they fought off the Cold Blooded asking no help from the other three shifter tribes, Lion, Hawk and Bears. Since the beginning they were the only tribe created by the Original Witches to not be blessed with a soulmate. Instead the witches blessed them with Immortality, and as The Lions, Hawks and Bears loved and lived out their lives, the same Marked Wolves roamed through the kingdom killing and rarely dying in battle. 
A thousand years had passed since all four shifter tribes were created, and now the Marked Wolves were as strong as ever but falling in numbers. They were made to fight,  not to love and have families. Fate seems to be wanting a change, and it will come as a huge shock, especially to a few young women. 
	In a world where the men aren't human and women were matched perfectly for them, Bonnie Smith dreamt of the day she'd go to the annual mating ceremonies. Bonnie thought that finding her mate would diminish the fear of the Cold Blooded Tribe that ran through everyones veins, only to find out the fairy tale isn't all that it is brought up to be.  The last ceremony of that year, Bonnie knew she would have to meet her mate on that dark night. What she didn't expect was the harsh treatment she'd receive after.

I've watched and witnessed the mate bond between numerous wolves throughout the years. Werewolves. We all have a mate. One that is meant to be the other halves of our souls. Mates destined just for each other. When a wolf finds their mate, it should be the most wonderful experience. Love at first sight at its best. I wanted to feel what they felt. I wanted to meet my mate. I wanted to fall irresistibly, undeniably, and eternally in love. That's what mates are supposed to do, but I learned it's not the case for everybody. It wasn't the case for me. ____________________________________________ Camilla is starting a new life in a new pack after the death of her Grandfather, the man that raised her. Her grandfather had taught her the laws of a great werewolf ruler in the making. She learns the hard way that not everybody plays by the rules. Magic should never have found its way into human lands and nature always must have a balance. When man first used magic to turn to wolf, nature's scales were tipped as the wolves ravaged any human territory they desired. In nature's attempt to find balance once again, man rose from the dead. His lethal bite reduced the numbers of wolf packs, however it was the venom and bloodlust that had unprecedented consequences. Humans faced the fate of falling prey to the wolves or victim to the blood drinkers. Nature finally bound both creatures to curses in order to bring power back to the humans. Blood drinkers were condemned to a life in shadows and their venom that could create others became immensely diluted. The wolves were condemned to their own bloodlines, no wolf can be made unless born, their only magic was reduced to what runs in their veins. And so nature found balance in the separation of the three worlds; blood drinkers, wolves, and humans. All will be well in the human lands again-- except curses cannot be created without a loophole. When centuries pass and the curses have taken its rightful control of the blood drinker and wolf species, the scales will finally tip in the favor of the humans. The wolf born of just one drop of magic in their blood will create the key that combines the three worlds once more. All werewolves have mates. So what happens when you fall for someone before you're 18... "Hopefully hes my mate" is all Markie can think as she waits for her 18th. This is a short story that takes place in the middle of "Orphan Wolf". It can be read independently but will have spoilers if you intend to read "Orphan Wolf"... I of course would suggest you read it and pause at the point I marked to read "Markie" but the choice is yours. Story excerpt "Come on Ryan leave me alone!" A boy yells. "You started it Francis... come on pup don't start that with me... I don't have time for this! GO HOME!" I felt the command. I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" "The one you want isn't mate. He isn't yours. He isn't interested... I want mate!" "No." I block her out and climb down the tree.

They live in an apartment with the humans. Scarlet is a writer, she publishes her own books while Danny is an accountant. Everything is happy and dandy until one day she got a letter from her family asking her to visit them. No matter what the Moon Goddess does she can't stop the werewolves from killing their mates or other humans. This is the story of the sweet, shy nerd named Elly. She was unfortunate enough to be the mate of the alpha of the Whisper Ice Pack, Landyn. The pack is named because its first alpha was a white wolf, as is Landyn. The bond between the two is stronger than others. Landyn doesn't know if he can kill the sweet, shy girl. Will Landon kill her? Or will he turn the tables and protect his mate from his family? Will the Moon Goddess finally be able to save the werewolves from themselves?

Most fighters who come here, come from packs that are strong. They train for this sort of thing. That's why wolves that are brought in fight to the death, and rogues dread the fights.
