I've been in foster care for a while now, always escaping but this couple comes out of the blue without even meeting me and takes me in. This man doesn't even look old enough to adopt me. Perverse Discovery
This is a series of short stories inspired by a friend. After buying a new house his mom found a letter (random scribbling?) left behind in a back closet. The scrap of folded paper had warnings about demons that lived in the walls and forced him to sell his house. Needless to say it was an unsettling discovery. Pair that with my own personal experience of buying a house sight unseen and moving (literally) halfway across the country in the middle of a pandemic I had enough material to put together a short collection of stories. Each story opens with an item discovered in a house followed by either the origin of the item or the discovery of the item. All focus around the experience of someone moving. I write these for fun (there are more coming, just editing at the moment) and my own entertainment during the time of social distancing. I hope you find something relatable or at the very least gets you thinking. Enjoy! PS - Although I would not consider this overly graphic there are some more mature scenes and use of adult language.Complete

"Shit, shit! Why did you stab me!?" I exclaim, laying on the floor with my hand grasping my side, not really putting thought into what I'm saying anymore. "Well what did you think I came here to do!?" He still has his knife out, pointed out towards me. I grab the closest object and hold it out in front of me, this just so happens to be a can of hairspray. "No, you stay back there, I don't want you doing any more damage than you've already done." He falters for a second and stares at the can of hairspray before looking back at me, "I am a murderer, this is my job...you know what this is just getting annoying." - An 18yr old serial killer under the name of "Jeff The Killer" has been tormenting a small town in southern Mississippi for around a month now. He didn't know why he decided to target this town, he just needed to blow off some steam. He didn't want to be controlled anymore, he needed something different. When he meets (Y/n), and fails to kill him, will he actually find someone that understands him? (Y/n), also 18yrs old, is stuck in a house with an emotionally and physically abusive step sister, an avoidant step brother, a Dad who seemed to care more about his work and social status then his son, and a distant step mother. On the outside he looks perfect, he seems to have everything handed to him. On the inside though, however much he may think he's a saint, it's all a ruse to hide his homicidal thoughts. He prays for something new, something that will save him from the drone of life. However the way that prayer is answered might not be what he intended, but what he needs. "You don't own me!" I shout glaring up at him as he smirks down at me tightening his grip around my neck. "You're mine sweet cheeks. Ever since I walked into your life 15 years ago, you became mine. Your heart, soul, and especially your body belongs to me" he says staring deeply into my eyes as my breath hitched. ... Ever since I was born into the most lavish and kindest family on the face of the earth, I knew my life would never be regular. I mean, I was the only child with the blood and DNA of the richest people on the block full of rich families. The only downside of being an only child was that I was always lonely with both my parents being workaholics. Then finally, one day my parents both decided to make my wish come true and gift me with 3 older siblings. Since both my parents both didn't have time to actually make me siblings, my mother decided to adopt 3 boys from one of the adoption center my father was sponsoring at the time at his work place. They weren't blood brothers, I could tell by their different genetics as soon as I saw them, but there was something about how close they were that made it seem like they were inseparable triplets. I should've known my life was going to change right after I met my new, what my parents wanted me to call them, step brothers.
