Scout Dawes was alone at the beginning of her life. Combine this with the absence of others in an apocalypse and the nagging memories of the life she once led, she soon became numb with acceptance. She became contempt with the fact a long time ago.

So what if her true love returns, quickly followed by the evil and the aftermath?
