"Guys, I got another note," I say as I sit down at lunch. Vanessa and Xander were here but Hazel was missing. "Where's Hazel?" I question, eyeing her empty seat. "Out with Adam today, it's Friday," Xander says whilst I munch on my sandwich. "Did you say you got another note?" He asks and I hold my finger up and try to swallow my food as quickly I can so I can speak again. "Yeah, this one says, 'You look so beautiful in blue, I wish I could say this in person,' I really want to know who's playing this prank," I say and my eyes fall to the only prankster in Waterstone Academy, Sebastein. "I don't think it is Sebastien, he loves attention and this doesn't scream attention," Vanessa says as my eyes land on him. But my eyes move from Sebastien quickly to the hottest man in Waterstone, Vincent. He has been bugging me for a week, trying to talk to me and he even asked me to come to Logan's party on the weekend. My eyes must have been drilling holes into his face because he turns in my directions. I quickly turn back to Xander and Vanessa who were talking about their Art projects. "Okay, so if not Sebastien then who?" I voice my thoughts out loud. "Maybe you have a secret admirer," Xander says in all seriousness and I burst out laughing. Grade twelve was supposed to be filled with happiness. And it really was great. Natalie Wild's next door neighbor Ayrton Rider had been arrested for underground illegal MMA fighting. He broke a guy's jaw and a couple of his ribs. He was lucky he got off with three years of prison. Now if he was already a rough tough dude, now imagine three years later. He's officially the bad boy package. Perfect messy hair, six pack, hot body, cute face, strong and now a jail record. Ayrton is back to school and girls are happy about it. He might as well have been a Rock Star with the amount of signatures he was handing out. Girls were fainting and staring. And guys were...well guys weren't too happy about the situation. Leave it to Ayrton make tons of fans and loads of enemies in the same day. Natalie Wild was an artist, or at least the school's artist. All school activity posters and banners were designed by Natalie. School grades and social outings may not be her thing, but art has always been it. Ayrton finds a way of getting into another fight in the third month of school. Now the principle decides make him do some extra curricular activities instead of suspending him for a week. INSIGHT ON MAI DIARY
The "Please..." I hear her whimper and I go into full panic mode. "Calm down, okay? Deep breaths. Don't hang up. I'll be with you soon. Where are you?" I rush as I grab the car key sitting on the glass table. I run into the garage with my dad behind me. "What do you need?" Dad asks "A room. A big one." He runs back inside as I hear her voice again. "Basement...blood...Elle..." I hear sounds of movement in the background and connect the dots. Elle's bleeding, or something... "Deep breaths baby, deep breaths. It's okay, you're okay" I murmur reassuring words to her, thankful that there's no traffic. Several thoughts run through my mind as I drove to her house. The last time we spoke, she could barely stand me, but now she's calling me. I feel kinda used, but now's not the time to think about that. I reach her house in a matter of minutes and shove the door open. The house is quiet, save for my heavy breathing and footsteps. I reach the basement and take in the sight in front of me. Tyson Shelley is a very typical teenager: parties, girls, passionate about his garage band. Except he may have taken it too far. Whenever there's a party he's the first one with a drink in his hand, which would be all right, if he weren't popping pills as well. But what led him to this behavior in the first place? Perhaps it was his broken childhood, disturbed and interrupted by bouts of violence and loss? His missing mother, or his alcoholic father? Whatever it was, it's left him lost and without a purpose beyond getting trashed every Friday and Saturday night. Calla Stevenson however seems the exact opposite. The new girl in town with an average nuclear family and a little sister to be a role model for. She's never had the chance to act out, with the only truly obvious thing setting her apart is her taller than average height and her penchant for retro clothing. But then you look closer. The hairline cracks that have spread their way across her family have widened, and with her parents separating she blames herself for their unhappiness. In a new town, they were meant to start anew. But the change of scenery brings with it its own set of anxieties: a new school, new friends and the persistent daily struggle of dyslexia. Murwillumbah seems a sleepy enough town when Calla and her family moves in. But once she meets Tyson everything changes. She learns less about the cocky, guitar playing James Dean Rebel, and more about the gentle soul he is intent on destroying. Ecstasy is a story about opposites, and is told by two narrators. It reminds us that everyone has their own path but we can all walk in each other's shoes. Warning: this story may contain frequent us e of strong language, sexual scenes, and STRONG drug use. I enter at the club and see people, bouncing their heads, jumping. There’s also a band playing a rock song, but I barely understand it since the vocalist is shouting the lyrics. Plus, the crowd is thick and they’re all noisy. This is a club, after all. I head to the long table and sit my butt on the chair. I order some water with ice. I look at my left side and see him. Azariah. The one who called me his babe. And he’s with another girl. Azariah kisses the girl’s jaw, and the girl giggles. She puts his mouth on his and I can see the tongue. Oh.
