"Why are you staring at me?" she asked not moving her eyes away from the water as she spoke in her usual emotionless voice. 

"Cause' you're just so damn gorgeous." I replied with a smile present in my voice. Not the slightest bit  embarrassed by my words, since that was the blatant truth.

But she remained the same, my comment barely making an impact on her, not even a single act of acknowledgement.

Still monotone, staring at the flowing water beneath us. Her glazed eyes, glistening under the sun, with held back tears.
