Dr. Eggman has created a serum, a kind of serum where it can make a single person's heart evil. The serum come along with a single gem. That gem can make the darkness powerful, and the person who owns this gem will be unstoppable.

Eggman uses Amy as the first candidate for his experiment. The sonic gang came to the rescue as usual, but a accident happen that they wouldn't thought would get him unhealthily obsess on her.

Despite the life threatening situation, Shadow and Amy's connection grows closer and closer which ultimately leads to them having an affair which eventually leads them to being together, much to the disdain of not only Sonic, but to the entire group, unfortunately, it later becomes a weakness which will give Mephiles a possible one up against the team Will Amy and the rest of the crew find a cure for Shadow's condition or will he forever be Mephiles' murderous puppet?
