Dan is a "bad boy" of his high school and he is also a closeted gay.His life is hard and he doesn't enjoy his life.Dan has a journal and he writes in it everyday because when he was put in a mental hospital when he was 14,they provided journals and made everyone there write there feelings to help.He loves his journal as its his most valuable possession and nobody except for him knows he has it....or so he thinks.

Dan- Dan has PTSD,depression,and anxiety.He is also one of those "bad boys" in his high school who tries to act all rebellious but he is really just sad and desperate for love and attention that he never got in his childhood and still hasnt had.He is gay and also questioning his gender identity so he goes by he/him or they/them.He doesn't have a mum as she left him when he was 13 because of his dad.
Phil-Phil has anxiety and depression and is a shy,quiet kid in his high school.He is the "new kid" at school.He is also gay but is not questioning his gender identity.He doesn't have a dad as he left as soon as he found out his mum was pregnant with him because he couldn't face the embarrassment of having a kid at 17.
Louise-(she gets added later in the story and she's a good character not a bad character that others make her out to be in their ff)

And soon, his depression may end up falling to deep. He gets hateful and rude comments on his videos that he posts to YouTube. He even gets hate on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. What did he ever do to them? What did he do to deserve any of this?? His flatmate Dan doesn't know about Phil's depression, however. All he knows (thinks, rather) is that his best friend is staying strong through all of the hateful things he gets from people. But in reality, that's not what Phil is doing at all.
