When Jasper Kennedy's parents' boat collapsed beneath the ocean's waves, so did her life. She lost the people she loved more than anything else in the world yet somehow, she survived. Ever since then, she's been terrified of the ocean and refused to go anywhere near it until one night. On this one night, she felt terribly alone and depressed. The grief of her parent's deaths had become too much for her to bear, and as she stood on the dock, staring down at the harsh waves, she realized how easy it would be to jump and be with them again, the way she should've been. And so she did.

A swim gone wrong causes my twin sister to begin to fear the water. She barely even touches it. I went missing when it happened, everyone thinks I drowned, and died. I did drown, or rather I started to, but then a bright light shown down on me during a full moon and turned me into a mermaid, one drop and 10 secs later a tail. I love it! Not so much the ocean itself but rather what lurks within. Invincible to the eye but it watches you. As a child she has always been drawn to nature, that soon took a turn. without warning that same day, an angry storm suddenly approached, untamed and strong the ocean follows seconds later burying the once known horizon under ten feet of murky waters. Months after the disaster the water suddenly trails back to sea bringing along hundredths of corpses. Few left on the beaches with stomachs ripped out and chewed, some without a torso most without arms. What could have happened? One day strolling around with her nanny, Monica sensed something amiss. A dreadful feeling creeping up onto her from behind, eyes following her tiny form, yet there seems to be no one around.
