El is an 'Invisible' girl to the world. Her family forgot about her when she was born and abandoned her in their cabin She was found by a traveler and brought to an orphanage. This was not a place to be sad, angry, or hurt. The only way to survive was to be happy, calm and hopeful, even when the world is screaming at you that it's not ok. She was taunted and hurt for 13 years, every day getting worse and worse. Finally, she snapped, causing the orphanage to shut down. She still lived there for a few years, preparing herself for the real world.
When she was 16, she left the orphanage and made herself a life in a nearby city, moving up to assistant to the owner. She moved to the largest city in the world, Alforma, to pursue her career. They still forget about her, but she always has papers to tell them who she is.
When all is well, of course, something goes wrong. After a run-in with some not-so-friendly folk, El's world is flipped upside-down. Nothing is as it seems and everything is chaos. Will her secret be able to save the world?
