Since Murdoc is locked up in prison the Gorillaz have to find a new bassist. Noodle suggests that they should recruit a former member of the gangrene gang Ace Copular. At first, frontman 2d doesn't like the idea of a Murdoc lookalike joining their band but eventually, he starts to warm up to him. Could they be an item?

After murdoc is arrested 2d ends up becoming the temporary leader of gorillaz. It's quite overwhelming for the singer to take on his many new tasks as the new leader but he's doing his best to make the band proud. While looking for a bassist to temporarly replace murdoc he ends up meeting ace. At first the two are just friends and bandmates but in soon enough time the two become much more then just bandmates. FYI just to clear up confusion. These first of all are my comfort versions of the band. And second of all this is in no way following canon so if you don't like that i'm sorry. Murdoc was looking for a few extra guests to feature on Plastic Beach, and decided he'd go into town and choose one of those usually dirty street performers to keep for a while, maybe have the featured, or maybe just to have them work there. Murdoc assumed that because said person would be performing on the streets, they wouldn't be missed and no one would attempt to search for them. He was right about this, for when he swept you up and took you back to the beach, no one even batted an eye.
