Women are resigned to the knowledge that if they are not married by the time they are twenty five that they never will be. They have limited choices once they are shelved. Martha chooses to go against the wishes of her family. She will spend the rest of her life taking care of her widowed Father as opposed to working and giving all her money to her younger female cousins to supplement their dowry. Fate and time has a different plan. Martha is drawn into a battle between The 19 and The Wild Roses. Two different factions each wanting to use and twist Martha for their own ambitions. Will Martha be able to bloom and change the world for the better or will she crushed? ....This story is a work in progress, it has themes and ideas that may change over time as the story develops and as I learn what you like and dislike about the novel. I had my first experience last month and it was truly disappointing and I would argue life changing -- I no longer see the average grown adult with the same respect as I did before writing this fic. And honestly, my impression of the community prior to writing this fic, fairly intelligent, and they really were a cross section of the general public. But as when I started writing this fic, I was truly astonished at my writing and how impressive my brain power is. And I can sense how that experience has seeped into my psyche and is polluting my ability to trust people, and I have become more suspicious of the true motivations of those around me. I literally cannot tell if I was just naive before and am more realistic now, or if I was realistic before and have become cynical now. This does not define my political views, and who I am today. I really am a changed man.😞
