Sang Sorenson has been brainwashed by her mother. Constant lies about men, society, and Earth as a whole have been drilled so deep that she finally begins to believe her. Now at age seventeen, her family has moved across states to a small town in South Carolina by the name of Charleston. She grew up homeschooled, or more precisely stuffed in a room with a book to read.
Now is her first time being released into the outside world. Being sent to Ashley Water's High is her first experience, and the only emotion Sang can feel is terror. Her mother's abuse, sister's bullying, and father's constant disappearance give her no one to depend on.
When her mental health is at its lowest, a group of guys barge into her life. She wants nothing more than to turn them away, like her mother always said, men were the scum of the Earth. They instead try to show her the light of the world, to take the struggling girl away from the horrors of her home.
At that same time these boys, who will try their hardest to save Sang from her advancing ruin, are dealing with a problem of their own. Principal Hendricks is rumored to be involved in suspicious affairs in accordance with the mafia, therefore putting the school at risk. The Blackbourne and Toma team are sent undercover to discover what he is up to, and furthermore exploit his actions. Will they succeed? Or will the school and all its students face its doom along with Sang?
