Once there were twelve kids in an orphanage on a small island called Catalina off the coast of California. When an asteroid crashed, it started a fire which soon consumed the whole island. Everyone got out safely; except for the six boys and six girls of the orphanage. The fire consumed them, yet they returned, more powerful then ever before.  The fire, infused with the asteroids power, gave each of the children a unique power. Half of them chose a life of fame and fortune and chose to accept their powers and learn to control them. This "System" granted humanity a fighting chance: otherworldly gifts and powers that defied the laws of nature. While Frank's gift wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, it did give him power. Power enough to hopefully keep his daughter safe, and punish the monsters that dared threaten her in the first place!
