Taken from my blog, The Diary of a Worrier Warrior, I decided to write something a little different. I wouldn't say I wrote it with the intention of it being "poetry", but from responses so far it seems to be classed as that. It is a piece that came straight from the heart at my recent low point. A point of darkness where I could no longer see a light to guide me home. This piece is raw and true. Hoping to shake this human off once and for all, I twisted my body around rapidly with a plan to put my words into action. When I was on my way to push this man as deep into the floor as possible my body all of the sudden went rigid. When my body froze solid, so did my brain. It took me several seconds to get out of my trance and when I finally did, all that was running through my mind were two words. Those eyes. All of the feelings that I had been hiding for the last 160 years were now coming crashing down on me. They were literally shooting out from this human's eyes like fire. A fire that burned into my core.

Beneath the cold, unblinking gaze of the moon, they once stood united, two halves of a whole, bound by chains forged from passion and tempered by tragedy. A man who clawed his way back from hell, a builder by trade, yet destined for ruin. A woman who equally knows both love and war, a wandering soul unable to find her way back to herself. Excerpt: -" I am broken-utterly, hopelessly worthless in and out. That's why I cling so desperately to the thought of being held together. I want to be held, I crave the warmth of being whole, even if it means falling apart all over again. I just want to savor the fleeting, delightful illusion... You cannot break me any further, Sandro. for I am already in pieces. I am Dispersed." "You are not. And even if you were, I have somehow found myself in the ruins of you. Even if you were, you would still find a way to emanate, to be the moon that lights my path, the glow within the darkest chambers of my heart. Unchain the dawn and let me step into your light. Should my yearning be too much for your heart to bear, then let me gather your fragments, not to fix you. (God forbid, as if something as serene as you are could need fixing) But to let them glisten like scattered stardust in my moonless, star-starved sky. Let me wander into your night. Introduction I started a different walk in life in 2007. I have always jotted down ditties from time to time; the ones in this book came about with a massive change within my life. It appeared sometimes as if I had no control over the flow of words. The first sentence would come through and that would be that until the poem was finished, regardless of the length. I started taking a notebook and pen with me everywhere I went so I could write if I needed to. The last one of the book 'Now' marks the end of an era. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Shadows I was walking along the other evening and I noticed my shadow,,, Then I noticed more shadows,,, For each light along the way it cast another shadow, hidden from view then the angle of me walking and the position of the light made it come into view, then go out of view again, sometimes, melting into another part of my shadow,,,, Mind you, they were all the different artificial lights, street, car, security, etc,,, I've only noticed one shadow with the light of the sun,,, Added to Heart Stains (HeartBreak) reading list by WattpadPoetry 07/02/2022💖
