"YOU IDIOT CHILD!!" My dad screeches at me. I feel the sharp blade of a knife scrape against my cheek and a metallic taste soon floods my mouth and runs down staining my shirt dark red. I see a dark figure towering over me, his heart filled with hatred for me, his desire to just put me out of my misery clouds his vision of the world. The person picked up a giant object that looked like a folding chair and raised it above his head. I shut my eyes prepared for impact. There was nothing. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my head as if it split open, I could feel my face slam against the ground hitting it with as much force to knock down a skyscraper, I again can taste the metallic sensation in my mouth all over my face. I try to open my eyes but all I see is red, then everything blacks out.

Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd) Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
