In medieval times in a world of fantasy. Fairies and goblins and the humans don't even know. For years a mysterious dragon has terrorised a small village. No one know what gender it is or where it came from. To get it to leave the village in peace they did whatever the dragon wanted. And what it wanted was a girl from the ages 16-19 years old. The village guards must leave the girl tied up on the edge of the near by cliff at midday when a new girl is requested. After they are taken no one sees them again. They assume the dragon has killed them.

What no one knows is that dragon is a princess. Princess Maya of the kingdom of Shadows. The Castle's sorcerer, Damien, cursed her years ago. Making her turn into a dragon by day and girl at night. To break the curse she must find her mate and true love, hence the girls.

Now another girl has been chosen. The guards barge into 17 year old  Kelly Cain's house. They bring her to the cliff and restrain her and leave. Leaving her to wait alone for the beast. Suddenly a roar comes from the sky and the huge fire breathing beats is swooping down towards her.

And stop her brother for his act of disposing his only twin sibling. The two white witches told her to take a swim in the sea before leaving. Before Lucia tries to get out of the water, she was suddenly transformed into a mermaid by the two white witches. There are two ways to break the spell before her time is up by the next month. If Lucia gets a kiss by the merman, she'll be a mermaid for all eternity. If the princess gets a kiss from the prince on land, she will be human again. If not, she will be lost in the world of water. Will Lucia see her family again as a mermaid? How is she going to reach them if she can't swim as a mermaid? Princess Lucia was new to be a mermaid.
