Shade, the Duchess of the Shadow Ninja Clan, awakens after fifty years of sleep and hasn't aged a day. Her clan is missing, either dead or working as slaves. She must make alliances, find recruits, and yield her skills once more to defeat her nemesis; the King of the Fire Ninjas, Smoke.
As time goes on, she meets a few teens, who are willing to help her in her quest, but they must be trained, and it's not going well. However, as she teaches them, they help her adjust to modern life with modern technology such as smartphones, computers, and such.
All began to go well when suddenly, someone unexpected from Shade's past comes back to haunt her, and not the friendly haunt. Why? Shade's not quite sure...

Tokyo heard the scream and quietly made his way to Shade's room. He heard sobbing and he felt almost broken. He could only imagine all the internal trauma Shade was going through.
He turned the knob quietly and looked into the room, just in time to see Shade press a blade to her arm. His eye's widened, but he didn't look away. He wished he knew how to help. After a few minutes, she stopped and the blade was tossed away. He watched her cry, and he slowly entered the room. Shade didn't seem to notice.
He sat next to her on the bed and embraced her in a hug. She whimpered but continued to cry into his chest.
"You'll be alright."
That's all he could say. Yet, would she really? What was the definition of okay?
"The demons haunt me..."
Every other chapter goes from present to past so you can learn about this history, of what will cause the end of the book/series. The past chapters are still being written because this was a recent decision, so please be patient. When they are written, there will be two new chapters available.
