Beckett Coleman didn't have to be a villain. All he had to do was study a little harder.
But if you were almost failing your college psychology class, and your professor offered you a guaranteed A for bringing down the local hero, you might jump at the chance too.
The problem is Beckett has no idea how to be a villain. How is he supposed to take down a hero with probability powers? This might be just another assignment he fails.
And failing this task could cost his life...

Heroes of Today
Charles Alblice has always led an ordinary life in Birchtowne. He enjoyed the company of his cousin, Quinn, and their best friend, Michael. The three lived their lives as carefree as any other teenager would. But life in Birchtowne gets messy when kids and teenagers alike begin disappearing every week without so much of a word of hope from Flare - the town's superhero - or the authorities. When Michael joins the ranks of the missing, Charles and Quinn are thrown into disarray. Quinn is angry; Charles feels lost and completely and utterly helpless. After a run-in with his ex, Lea - who happens to be Flare - and a near run-over by a truck, Charles learns he has supernatural abilities. He doesn't even have time to process the revelation before Lea is pushing him to be something bigger than himself. After accidentally saving a strange girl in the woods, Charles learns the disappearances happening all over town are just a minor detail in a bigger, more sinister plot than he ever could have imagined. Alongside Quinn, he swears to defeat the powers conspiring against the town. Connor Hunter's life was as normal as everything was. He attended school regularly with his two best friends. He had average scores which for a guy of his age would be normal. He lived alone far from his parents because he wanted to be independent, no uncommon thing there. One day, an accident occurs. He discovers that he had acquired some kind of ability to manipulate space and time. Everything goes downhill and he questions his sanity. Is he crazy? Could he be dreaming? Is this all real? After a few encounters he realizes that he isn't the only ability weilder, there are others, some stronger, others smarter and each one is different. Where will this realization come to? Hated and oppressed, Blights have had their backs against the wall for decades. Teenager Liam Wang must learn how to juggle both his civilian life and the life of his super-powered, crime-fighting persona "Narukami" and all that comes with it.
