Lynnette McIlvane is the creation of Murdoch McIlvane's father and some woman he decided to hook up with one night. Lynnette runs away from her home in Orange County, Virginia after her father starts to do... unfatherly things to her. She runs away, all the way to where she found out another relative lives, to Southie, Boston. At first, Murdoch didn't know exactly why a seven year old child was knocking on his door at a godawful hour in the night, and he was about to ask before Lynnette spills who she is and her parents... she was a bit weirded out to find that her brother was forty-something years old. But soon after finding out that she's his sister and what his father had done to her, he takes her in and treats her as if she was his own daughter. As Lynnette grows older, she starts to become this bright-minded young girl. Around the summer of her eleventh year being alive, she visits the Cumberland Farms store, where she meets an interesting boy. Matthew Eamon Walsh. He happened to be by himself, and pretty lonely. As the coolish humid night goes on, Lynnette feels she starts to break Matthew out of his hermit crab shell. However, he masks his troubles well, and when his crazy mother, Nikki, finds out about "the Cumberland Farms Store Girl," she starts to try and find everything out about Matthew's new friend. When Nikki and Murdoch start to date, and as Nikki learns more about Lynnette, Matthew's anxieties rise high, so what will happen when the pair find out their adults broke up and Matthew's starts to try and ruin Lynnette and Murdoch's lives? Can Matthew save Lynnette from knowing the whole truth, or will it slip through the cracks, and have Lynnette be dragged into the one thing he wanted to keep her away from? (This is an entire remake (because FUCK WATTPAD FOR NOT SAVING THE TITLE AND DESCRIPTION WHEN I PUBLISHED), all characters (besides Lynnette) belong to Nancy Werlin, author of the already amazing book, "The Rules of Survival.")
