En el verano de 2016, Navarro publicó este relato de ficción en su columna El desvío. Esta es una historia costumbrista que habla de un joven sencillo, de pueblo, con inquietudes que exceden su entorno social y con una mirada limpia, sincera y en ocasiones cómica.
El relato es una gran metáfora para dibujar las consecuencias de un enamoramiento repentino por una persona que no está al alcance del enamorado. Julián queda impresionado por una mujer forastera, y casada, con aspecto de estrella de cine. El joven, que regenta una tienda en el pueblo, junto con su madre, comparte con el lector sus impresiones sobre la vida y sobre el amor.
