The yearly Brahmotsavam and the day of the star Uthiram (Uttara-phalguni) are praised in Panguni (March-April). The day of the Krithika star, Thirukkrithika, Kandha Sashti (six days after Deepavali), and Thaipusam are different popular festivals celebrated in Palani.

Every day the processional symbol of the Lord Muruga is taken around Dhandayuthapani Temple in a Golden Chariot. There is a long shortlist, waiting for years, for the privilege of pulling this chariot.
