Jaidynn Cornell was just like eveyone else in Mysic Falls. She felt as if her entire life was normal, and that rhere was nothing wrong with the world that she loved in. But living in the situation that she did, she quickly found our that that was false. Her family was a Founding family. The Cornell's were known for their vast knowledge of the supernatural that crept in the shadows of their town. And when she hit the ripe age of seventeen, she was filled in abour everything her family was known for.

For the Founding Familes, the Cornell's kept all of the records regarding supernatural creatures. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, doppelgängers, originals, they had everything about them in their books. But the one thing about being a Cornell was that they could never reveal what they knew. The only time they could ever reveal what they knew about the supernatural, was either when they found someone to join their family or as a bargaining chip.

When her junior year hit, Mystic Falls seemed to be overrun by supernatural creatures. Including the Salvatore brothers. With that, her and her youngest brother, Grayson, were forced to leave their lineage lives. But when they got word that both of their parents were killed by vampires, they were forced to return to keep record of their family history. To take care of their familys work.

Bur when the two of them return, Jaidynn finds old feelings building up in her again for a certain brunette, who seems to have a vampire on each arm. And there was one thing that the Cornell could not do. That being they could not work with those who threatened them.
