Wrong

Once upon a time... This is not a fairytale, although there may actually be some Fey that get involved. This is the story of a girl. She isn't quite normal but she has no knowledge as to what is wrong with her. She's a shifter. During her first, accidental shift she is caught by a group of mostly peaceful 'hunters' that keep shifters like her locked away so that they can't cause any damage to the ordinary people that are unaware of the supernatural. The hunters aren't especially kind though, they believe that anyone that can shift is a skinwalker, a person that has slaughtered a family member to gain the power to shift purposely while shifters usually cant control it. Shifters are just normal people that have either been bitten themselves or someone along their family line was and passed down the ability. Skinwalkers are much more difficult to catch so the hunters really don't have many, but it can be hard to tell whether a person is a skinwalker or a shifter. One of the hunters has doubts about whether or not some of the people captured actually deserve to be locked away and soon finds himself trying to help the supernaturally clueless girl escape. This story doesn't have a guaranteed happy ending. There's more but I don't want to spoil the story by giving away too much.
