Mature
A space opera setting/story about trans/humanity and other terran clades in the early 2500s, their cosmopolitics, and the onset of cataclysmic warfare that leads the previously non-interventionist anarchist society hiding next door to the others to finally intervene.

These prose portions are unfinished and feedback is appreciated. There is no actual order to read them in so far. Editing notes and other such things are left in (marked with !chk)- these and other aspects will eventually be changed.

See the section 'Short Character / Segment Descriptions' for more details on each.

I have numerous notes in addition to these prose portions, and would be happy to post further details on the setting, characters, or anything else upon request. I plan to do so in pieces after converting them into prose portions which will resemble future history / encyclopedia style text. Please ask me if you would be interested in any collaboration or derived text creations, as I have setting history and other notes and planning- I have not changed the copyright to a more unrestricted one because I would like to be able to review things with anyone doing such things.

Set in a future not too far, this tale embarks a journey into a world where humans have found a way to merge animal and human DNA, to become anthropomorphic hybrids. These new hybrids have been part of the world for years, yet some people still are disgusted with these new findings, calling them "freaks of nature." Among these new creatures, androids resembling a "fictional" species called protogens have been created by Cladeware Biotech, an institute that creates bionic limbs for both humans and Alters. But what happens when a graduate of high school meets a girl, who is labeled as a proto...but is actually something else entirely? At first he was weary...but there's something about her that makes him feel...warm. What conflicts will arise between these two? Love? Pain? Loss? Only time will tell of this semi-futuristic story of two souls, whose destinies are intertwined for this incredible story. --WARNING-- This story may contain themes not suitable for users under 18+ (includes detailed smut**, blood, violence, etc.) **Smut chapters will be labeled and set apart from the main plot, there will be references to it, but not detailed references to disturb audiences who do not want said details. They will be set in between chapters. The smut parts are highly detailed. You are warned. This is my first ever story written so bear with me, but I hope you enjoy. Also note, previous chapters might be altered from when you originally read them. If you want, go back and see the new details! Inspired by and edited by my lovely Cinder. 💜 I love you. Waking up to a new reality by xp64rs
22 parts Complete Mature
Eric was the younger of twelve year old twins, just approaching their thirteenth birthday. Although only six minutes younger than Lauren, she was clearly the alpha character when it came to sibling rivalry; she had an effervescent outgoing personality and exuded confidence in everything that she did. Eric, on the other hand, was introverted and largely lived his life in under the shadow of his sister. That was until Eric was diagnosed with a life threatening condition. Admitted to hospital for emergency life-changing surgery. Waking up a different person there was a new-found confidence and optimism that results in a metamorphosis into a life that is far from the shadows. Born out of Covid-19 lockdown, this was conceived as a light-hearted short story to counteract the doom and gloom that was resulting from the pandemic. It grew longer than expected, as I got to know Erin. The story might still be a bit rough round the edges, but I wanted to release it in time for summer vacation reading. There is no violence or hatred, just kindness and acceptance. For those that discount this as unrealistic of the real world, I counter two arguments: 1) It is a complete work of fiction. 2) My son went to Lycee (Senior secondary school) in rural France, where attitudes are generally very conservative. Despite this, there was a girl his his year, who believed she should have been a boy. HE was accepted for who he was, without prejudice. Hopefully it offers a little light reading with a happy ending. Not that the story is set in Scotland and the spelling reflects British convention, perhaps with some Scottish dialect thrown in.
War for Change by Colby101001
36 parts Complete Mature
Humanity used to thrive in 2035 until a group of scientists started playing God. This science team was recruited by all the top world leaders and they've begun receiving demands for a super soldier, and they began experimenting on animals, which gave the scientists expected results, but like all experiments, there was a chance for failure. The humanoid animals, or Anthros for short, started getting smarter, faster than the scientists expected, or reacted. The Anthros broke free and took what was left of the 'White Mist,' the substance that created them, and put it into the planet's air supply. Long story short, most animals worldwide have begun transforming into Anthros, and started devastating the world's militaries before attacking cities. Humanity is now facing extinction with their last millions while the Anthro civilization is over 2 Billion strong and counting. The war between Humans and Anthros has lasted for over 50 years, and while humans may be disadvantaged against the Anthros higher strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence, they still beat Anthros with improvisation, adaptability, and tactics. The war has destroyed all four Eastern continents, leaving behind a creature both Humans and Anthros call Reapers, who are husks of the person they were. The Anthros have near complete control over North America and are fighting Humanity in South America, but the main human bases are located on the Hawaiian islands. With death seeming inevitable for human kind, can nothing stop humanity from extinction? Zero has just graduated from high school with good marks and a scholarship. His family wanted to celebrate, so they said they would wait for him. He went back to grab his wallet, and as he turned around, he started falling in a wormhole, closing afterwards. (This is my first story, and the art seen does not belong to me.) (Book 1 of War series)

How do you defeat an enemy you cannot reason with, you cannot hide from, you cannot escape, you cannot kill? For they are not truly alive. *They are coming. They keep coming. They keep coming.* (No they are not zombies. They were never truly alive.) ********************** Epilogue of Hermesh ********************** In a galaxy called Hermesh, Commodore Reemon Erra, an Amarthian by birth, is a decorated war hero. He is the best Hermesh has! Caught in the crossfires of a fight between the most evolved beings in all of Creation, only Reemon Erra has what it takes to save his galaxy.
