After witnessing her parents murder and being rapped and abused by a man she once loved and trusted, Emily struggles to move on. Living with her moms childhood best friend proves to be a challange. Emily cannot bring herself to trust Rose the way she once trusted Michael, and she cant live with Rose's husband and eight sons when a simple touch can bring back horrendous memories of Michael.
Rose, her husband Daniel, and her sons try to bring Emily back from her broken state. They want to protect her and get to know her but her walls fight to keep them out. They want to teach her to love and to trust and to bring back the girl she used to be. However, they never knew that girl and Emily refuses to speak of her life before.
