To retrieve the Soul Stone, one must sacrifice the soul of someone they love. Well, Thanos did just that with Gamora. But, what no one knew at the time, was that Thanos was sacrificing two souls. Gamora was pregnant, a specific Terran was the father. Since the Soul Stone only needed one sacrifice, the child survived. She was left stranded, orphaned, on Vormir. Years later, the time to fight Thanos has come once again, and she wants her parents back from the stone.
