Sanctuary is a story about a girl with a very rare blood type who's spent her entire life in the confines of a small werewolf community. Her werewolf family had raised her in fear of vampires, telling her that if she stepped foot in the outside world she would immediately be fed on. But what happens when a tragic turn of events lands her in the arms of a vampire?

After the tragic death of her mother which sent her into a mild state of depression, Aspen Montgomery is shipped away to live with her older sister, Edith, to hopefully pull out of her dysfunctional state. In the small and soggy town of Grimwater, Colorado, Aspen suspects the only excitement that will be happening during her stay is a weakly visit to her therapist. But finding herself lost in the forest at midnight, she ends up venturing further into the thick knot of tree's than she had originally planed, rendering her hopeless and at the fateful hands of nature.
