A boy with a dark past happens upon a girl with seemingly unlimited power. He welcomes her into his family of 'misfits' in hopes of protecting her from the monsters that hunt them. With the Elementals (also known as the Elders) missing and their numbers as a species dwindling across nations, they are forced to face the darkest horrors of the world on their own. Their kind has remained undiscovered by the public eye for centuries and the people in charge plan to keep it that way. Thrown into a world where anything is possible could very well be the worst or best thing to ever happen to them.
