It has been six hard and painful years since Clarke has seen or even spoken to her family and friends. She's desperate to find safety for herself but more importantly her daughter. An accidental meeting with a friend forces her to stay in her hometown rather than flee across the country as she had planned.

As her life unfolds before her she is forced to amend relationships, learn the roles of being a single mother, and rebuild the life that her husband had taken away from her.

With Clarke back in town, Bellamy has to press pause on his own life. He's stuck between the girl who's been there with him through all six years and the girl that left him for six years. His natural instinct to want to protect Clarke begins to kick back in and he finds himself in an impossible situation.
