Why do we care? Why try to smile? Why remember to laugh? why go to school? Why should we get an good education? Why do it have to rain? Why do the sun even shine? Why obsess? Why do we want to make friends? Why do we want to be perfect?

These were all questions asked by Miranda. The high school girl, with the big smile, the straight and white teeth, amazingly looking body and absolutely perfect life, or so it seemed. But what people didn't know was how broken the ”perfect girl” was.

This is a story of a girl that everybody thinks is perfect, the girl that all ways have a smile on her face, that puts others before herself and that is utterly and totally broken.

"Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. He's never noticed her, though, he doesn't really notice anyone. He's sort of an insouciant philanderer. They couldn't be any different, the only thing that connects them is their names. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?

Two broken souls in the midst of a crazy world. Two souls running away from their past. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel was cracking, slowly closing in. When these two connect, as if they were set on the same path, light creeps in through the cracks, and for or a moment, the tunnel seems to have a way out, but what if it collapses before they make it? - "You saved my life." The words come out as a whisper, I've been dying to say that. I thank god every day that he came into my life when he did. "Fuck Vivian, you don't know how much I needed you." I tear up just a little as he speaks, I don't know the last time I cried happy tears. I bring my hands up to cup his cheeks, resting my forehead against his. "No matter how much I push, I don't mean it. Please don't give up on me." My words seem to relieve him in some way as I feel his shoulders relax. "Even when I'm gone, I'll be by your side, forever." He brings his hand, sticking his pinky out. "pinky promise."I wrap mine around his, placing a kiss on his lips. Warning before you read!! This is my first book! This book will contain topics of SA, eating disorders, and mature content, if any of these things may bother you in anyway, please scroll! I hope when I finish this book I can public a clean version, with a different perspective leaving out these topics, but for now, this is how i've envisioned this story to go! Enjoy -Ash🌸

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. 45 parts Complete

We're brought into this world to live; eat, learn, sleep, repeat, repeat, and repeat again. Until eventually the time comes when we die. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work right? For some reason I don't think it's working out that way for me. • • • "Thick eyelashes frame deep blue eyes, freckles sprinkle across his pale cheekbones. His thick, tousled-white hair falls messily over part of his right eye. A blush starts to creep into my cheeks the longer I stare but I can't look away-- his features are so unflawed that they seem to resemble some sort of marble-like stone. It's almost as if he's not human at all." • • • Lydia Ames's second last year in high school starts off with an accident where she looses the only family member she has left. As if that's not the worst part already, she also has a permanent reminder of the day's events. However when she meets a certain boy and his friends her whole world changes completely. The question is did it change for the better? Or will it end in the loss of everything and everyone she has left? *This version of A Touch of Scarlet is a first draft = grammar is painfully incorrect* #1 in Vampire: September-November 2015
