Eve Allred is desperately trying to put her life back together after spending months of hospitalization and rehab for an eating disorder. Eve struggles with repairing broken relationships with friends and family who don't truly understand what she's going through while attempting to distance herself from Ana, the beautiful and strikingly skinny girl who sent her spiraling out of control in the first place. Eve quickly finds that trying to get healthy is going to be a lot harder than she pictured, particularly with Ana sabotaging her at every turn. She knows that she needs to cut Ana out of her life, but Eve feels helpless to ignore her taunts and criticism.

Eve turns to sports to regain a sense of normalcy. She had given up soccer when she was in the middle of her crisis and now she tries to rebuild her muscles and her self-confidence by running track. She just wants to keep her head down and get better, but she finds opposition at every turn. Complicating matters is Jason, a guy with haunted eyes who won't leave her mind after a strange encounter. She feels inexplicably drawn to him and becomes determined to figure out how she is causing this stranger so much pain.

Eve's struggle to balance everything-the boy, rebuilding her old life, and vicious Ana-provides a unique look at what recovering from an eating disorder is really like.
