Since monsters were suddenly freed, all seven children to have fallen down into the Underground too stupid to know better, there has been a battle for jobs between both races. Money was suddenly hard to come by for humans and monsters. Every human thought the procedures taken during the Great Depression all those years ago would help, but the president is refusing to have the government help settle everything.

Years later, nothing had changed. More and more people lost their jobs. More and more businesses were closing. How did this all happen?

One determined human is tired of living so fine. She wants to understand what everyone is going through. But she can't go out as herself. What will be the price she has to pay at the end of all this, IF it ever ends? What will her choices lead to? Love? Destruction? Injury? Connection? Survival?

That means no Soriel, Papyton, etc. The only ships are Torgore (in the past) and Alphyne. •This is NOT an x reader. I heavily dislike those types of stories. The reader will have no part in this. •This exists outside of canon to an extreme. For example, Frisk is the second human and not the eighth. •There will be OCs, but only for a few humans and they still technically exist in normal Undertale. •There is a sequel. I'm planning on rewriting it after this one, as it is much more random and definitely needs it. A fine retreading of the UNDERTALE AU "Storyshift" created by VoltraTheSparking, DUSTSHIFT's tragedy pits a distorted, gaslit version of the Underground, spearheaded by the incompetent ruler of the monarchy, SANS.
